Officials say no one was injured after the New Brunswick Southern Railway train derailed in a village in the southwestern state early Thursday morning.
In the end, 10 trains got off the track. According to the New Brunswick RCMP, the derailment closed Route 3 at Harvey Station. The road will resume later this morning.
Harvey Fire Chief Jerad Swan said firefighters responded to the incident near Cedar Lane around 5 am after “someone heard a loud noise.”
Nobody was injured, Swan said.
Anne McInerney, vice-president of communications for J.D. Irving Ltd., which owns NB Southern Railway, said the cause of the derailment is unknown.
